Neuways are delighted to reveal that its Managing Director, Martin Roberts, is the first member to join the East Midlands Cyber Resilience Centre Board.

Martin has over 25 years’ experience within the IT industry and has helped many businesses with their cyber security over that time.

Martin said of the news:

I believe cyber security, or a lack of it, is the single biggest threat to any business and the quest to protect organisations from this threat drives everything we, at Neuways, do.

When the opportunity came up to become a Board member, I jumped at the chance to contribute to the wider efforts across the region. Together, we can educate businesses to protect themselves as robustly as possible from this 21st century threat.”

He has led Neuways since 2016, helping clients secure and grow their business through strategising and implementing effective IT solutions.

Martin is the first addition to the EMCRC Board and will play a crucial role in reviewing the direction of the EMCRC and guiding its activities.

Having launched in March 2020, the EMCRC is an innovative not-for-profit partnership between policing, academia and private industry, committed to helping protect businesses in the East Midlands region from cyber crime. It is part of a growing network of regional centres being established as part of a national roll out to provide businesses of all sizes with access to affordable cyber security services, the latest advice and support from leading law enforcement and industry experts.

Detective Inspector Matt Carson, director and police lead of the EMCRC, said Martin’s guidance will be invaluable to the centre. Det Insp Carson said:

Martin brings a wealth of experience, both in the cyber security industry and as a successful MD and business leader.

He has a real passion and considerable experience in helping businesses become cyber resilient. This aligns perfectly with the centre’s ethos and we are very much looking forward to working together.

We hope with Martin’s added guidance to continue to drive membership and provide real value to the business community when it comes to cyber hygiene and data protection.”
