Neuways supports local community as it joins forces with Chellaston-based Springwater Charity to support the local network of caregivers, hostels and vulnerable members of the community.

From children’s toys to winter clothing and toiletries to food, staff from the tech business have eagerly contributed to the initiative which helps those less fortunate in the local community.

Neuways’ directors have been moved by the impact the pandemic has had on their local community, leading to them donate an additional £500 to the efforts. This will provide further essentials for Springwater as they work within the community, while Aldi’s Chellaston branch will also be adding their support in the form of donations.

“It is great to be contributing towards a charity like Springwater, who are dedicated to bettering the lives of people and families who are suffering the most at the moment. Their re-distribution of surplus food and other essentials from supermarkets helps improve the lives of many people in the community.

“I’m so proud of all the staff at Neuways who have gone above and beyond in supporting their local community with food, winter clothing, games, toys and other essentials all being delivered to Springwater for distribution to those who need them the most.

“While we are still in the grip of the COVID-19 pandemic, we hope this donation can go some way to helping people through any hardships they are experiencing and enjoy the holiday season.”

Springwater Charity are a community group who source surplus products from supermarkets and through the Fareshare scheme, and provide for people and families who are going through financial difficulties and struggle. Demand for their services has risen sharply during the COVID-19 pandemic, especially as the job market continues to contract in the UK.

Springwater Charity’s Patience Chisango, said: Our work is making a real impact in people’s lives and offers valuable support where it is needed most by ensuring people have food at their table. We are always fundraising to pay for food items, so any donations are warmly welcomed.

“When the COVID-19 crisis hit the UK, Springwater recognised the necessity of an immediate and well-coordinated plan. We decided it was time for collective and unified action.

“We raised funds to support families and individuals in need of assistance. By helping community organisations with resources and necessary support, an effective local response was able to assist the most vulnerable in our local communities.”

Neuways supports local community initiatives throughout the year as part of their ongoing commitment to Corporate and Social Responsibility.
